The Project "RIGHT OF BEING IN Umbria", was founded in 2005 by a protocol agreement between the Region of Umbria, ANCI Umbria and the municipalities of Marsciano, Perugia, Narni and Terni, who are the owners of the Regional projects SPRAR (Protection System for Asylum seekers and refugees).
The general objective
The Project has started a process for the consolidation of the regional integrated hospitality system addressed to asylum seekers and holders of a residence permit on the territory of Umbria, with the intent to promote dialogue around the issue of immigration and to act as a tool for training and upgrading professional skills of social workers both public and private, creating opportunities for exchange between different experiences.
Each year the project foreseen the organization of two training days and a final seminar on themes and topics proposed by the operators of the managing institutions of the Sprar projects which are necessary for the professional growth and to the identification of useful tools to address the issues with which every day the workers, involved in hosting of those who have a difficult life history and different cultures, compare themselves. In order to implement the goals of the project was set up at a table ANCI Umbria coordination that meets periodically to monitor the migration phenomenon that characterizes the Umbria region and involves local realities.

Regional AWARD for best practices for the integration of immigrants in the towns of Umbria "
The establishment of an award titled "COMBINING - Regional Award for the best practices of integration of immigrants in the towns of Umbria" addressed to local authorities of Umbria, is intended to raise awareness and promote the experience gained over a period about 10 years, as well as to share at regional level, expertise in the field of welcoming policies.
ANCI Umbria by virtue of a past experience in the field of immigration aims with this project, as a subject capable to promote dialogue and mutual knowledge of good practice in Umbria in the integration of developing a tool which can assess the performance of municipalities in policies and services aimed at the immigrant population and interaction with the native one. Through a questionnaire on social and territorial areas of Umbria made up of some predetermined indicators, both general and specific, we note the practices implemented in the municipalities of Umbria regarding intervention areas ranging from education and cultural mediation, to the policies adopted to encourage job placement, housing policy, the participatory tools put in place by municipalities, assessing the ability of local governments to create a system of related services in the area.
General objective
In its first year, the project "INTEGRANDO", has experienced path for working spheres. The purpose of the award is to bring out the positive aspects the immigration phenomenon and its impact on the native population by offering to the Administrations an opportunity for reflection on their own and others' experience, highlighting both the strengths of both the weaknesses that social integration in society multicultural entails.
Specific Objectives
In particular, the award aims to:
- promote greater knowledge of the significant aspects for the implementation of policies and practices for the integration;
- Increasing the skills of those who in the public or private social services respond to the needs of foreigners;
- Activate forms of cooperation and continuous synergy between local institutions so that they are more knowable and recognized the rights of immigrants but also those aspects that relate to the process of integration of the immigrant population and the native Umbrian;
- Learn and disseminate good practices and innovations in the area to 'trace' of the work and to increase the skills of the operators;
- Highlight the weak points in order to activate a system of continuous improvement (Plan-do-check-act);
The award "INTEGRANDO" wants to keep alive the debate and attention on local integration policies, contributing to increasing knowledge and awareness on the issues of intercultural communication by those who daily compare with immigrants, activating a network of collaboration between the municipalities which will extend the vision of the state of the art in terms of local integration of immigrants.

Project Theatre Refuge "Human Beings"
With this project Anci Umbria aims to promote a theatrical laboratory by exploiting existing expertise of the "unmasked."
The Cultural Association "unmasked", directed by Danilo Cremonte, was founded in 1989 by theater artists from different cultures, meeting and confrontation between human and cultural experiences far from one another, and contamination between different forms of artistic expression are therefore at the origin of the work of the Association. From these premises in 1994 was born the Theatre Workshop Intercultural "Human Beings".
The theatrical Laboratory Intercultural "Human Beings", supported by the Region of Umbria, from the Italian city of Perugia and the University for Foreigners, had from '94 to now more than 2,000 members from all over the world.
A laboratory in which people all around the world can meet, express themselves and learn about others through the practice of theatre. Each one starting from their own history (experiences, language, culture), we plan to search together everything that unites us, makes us similar to each other, which makes us "human", "human beings".
The laboratory "Human Beings" is therefore a place of real (self) intercultural education. The practice of the theater is used as a means of knowledge as well as creative expression and communication. The theater in fact in its multiplicity of languages and expressive possibilities, allows for a rich and meaningful exchange of human and cultural experiences and even more when it occurs between members of different cultures distant from each other and through the method of improvisation and self-narrative.
The transition from individual experience autobiographical, typical of improvisation, to a public dimension (theatrical) marks the transition from a personal story to a social and historical collective experience, which may arise from the comparison (convergence / divergence) with other individuals, "stories "and different cultures. Prerequisite for such research and openness is that people find themselves at ease, in a condition "protected" and educated to listen.
It is quite evident that this type of activity also promotes the learning of the Italian language, as the main instrument of communication in a free and lively context.
All participants actively contribute to the project at every stage with proposals and suggestions, and the imagination and creativity of each are constantly stimulated by the method of improvisation / narration, as well as the final show stems from contribution of all, since it is created through the development and installation of such improvisations.
Objectives of the project
The aim is the creation of a laboratory to be carried out in one of the shelter centers of the municipalities belonging to the Network SPRAR and the staging of theatrical performances that derive from this.
We also wish to create a network the experience at the national level through the creation of informative material explaining the experience made at the regional level. The dissemination will take place through the communication channels and through the regional on-line entry of the material on the site made by ANCI Umbria www.dirittodiessereinumbria.it in which was inserted a discussion forum with the participation of all national network SPRAR.
activity
the central focus of this project will be the creation of the laboratory, which will be addressed to the guests of the centers that collaborate to realize a theater performance to stage.
The experience, experimental, will be documented in order to spread also in other towns starting with those belonging to the network SPRAR.

Project "Theatre of Soul"
