ANCI is the National Association of Italian Municipalities, protects and represents the general interests of Municipalities, and represents them. It pursues its goals taking inspiration from the values of autonomy, independence and representativeness. In Italy the municipalities belonging to ANCI are about 8000.

ANCI Umbria operates in different aspects of life of the autonomies: administration, local finance, land use, protection of health, organization of public services and it is committed to cooperation and coordination of activities related to the development of international relations.
The Association has the task of representing and protecting local autonomy in front of state bodies and through the hearings and with the direct participation in Committees and bodies of the Ministries or other public bodies (eg. for collective bargaining of the local authority staff).
In it are the seat and represent the principles of equal dignity and pluralism expression of local elected assemblies.
ANCI, the National Association of Italian Municipalities is an unified
association at national character. The main objectives of ANCI are the protection and dissemination of the affirmation of the principle of local autonomy, recognized in the Constitution to Title V.
Recently, the activity of ANCI Umbria has become quite intense and it is an aid to local authorities, a reference point to coordinate the work and the needs of local autonomies, it takes care of information, study, development and resolution of issues that affect the lives of the Municipalities.
